CRIME
& TRAUMA SCENE DECONTAMINATION
Crime and trauma scene decontamination is the cleaning or
removal and disposal of items that have been contaminated
with biohazardous waste which includes blood, tissue,
animal or human remains at locations where traumatic
events have occurred. We have a caring and professional
staff who can help the grieving family by dealing with
this situation quickly and effectively. Our bio recovery
technician will provide you with an accurate assessment
and handling of your situation. We are sensitive to a
family’s grief and will thoroughly explain the process
that is required for their particular situation.
Crime and trauma scene decontamination must be done by
professionals trained in crime and trauma scene cleaning
in order to protect current and future occupants of the
property. A failure to properly and safely remove all
biological and chemical contaminants can pose serious
health issues for occupants, employees and owners.
Cleaning a crime scene or a place where a traumatic injury
happened can further the trauma experienced by survivors
or family members and friends.
There is also the danger of infection and disease by
bloodbourne pathogens that exist in blood and body fluids.
Bloodbourne pathogens are microorganisms such as viruses
or bacteria that are carried in blood and can cause
disease in people.
There are many different bloodbourne pathogens including
malaria, syphilis, brucellosis, Hepatitis B (HBV),
Hepatitis C (HCV), herpes, E.Coli, hantavirus and Human
Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Bloodborne pathogens can
live in dried blood for weeks, some scientists have proven
them to live in dried blood for more than a month.
